Yeah, that's Pont d'Arc, a natural formed way for the river called Ardeche. I kayak'd (how do you spell THAT?) under there.

Holiday was lovely, my boyfriend has not sent me the pictures yet but we had a lovely time. Aside from getting stung by a wasp (they are demons I tell you) and getting into a car crash (nobody got hurt, just very shaken). And I'm so proud of my strong survival guy, me and my family kayak'd (?!) 8km under Pont d'Arc, and a few days after that my boyfriend went back and did 24km!

Holiday

So so so busy. But now...

Holiday.

Yes, I'm leaving for 2,5 weeks to France. Say bonjour to croissants, le soleil, le vin, le pain et les hommes tres ehh.. cute. Looking forward to it! Will be a family trip with my boyfriend coming along :)

I'm not joking when I tell you there's at least one big shopper filled with books (probably around thirty books?) and around ten magazines coming along. Yeah, we're talkative. Lol.

Disneyland!

Pictures of Paris coming up. Disney was amazing, we had the best weather. It was a little chilly, but during the afternoon we finally felt the suns power (for the first time this year!). So we unzipped our jackets and did Space Mountain, Peter Pan, nearly everything! It was lovely.

Holiday in Italy: first trip!

It was my first of the holiday :)


The lake only about two minutes walking from our appartment.. (it was evening so the weather wasn't at it's best anymore)


Our first trip! This was to Desenzano, the capital of Lake Garda. This was the view from a hill we climbed, to a castle (which was closed, but hey).

Our kitchen, which was quite big and nice. And the dinner table in the front of the table. Only, we never ate at that table, we ate outside on the balcony or in restaurants.. The good life!


Honoustly, you have to feel sorry for me! These were all the shoes I packed for 15 days of holiday... And no, I didn't actually wear the two high heeled ones *blush*

So, many moooooore pictures to come, which are more interesting than our little appartement, but for me this was a first... The first time I lived with my boyfriend 24/7 for more than 3 days.. And we did SO well. We had a blast. And ever since I can't wait to live with him for real. But we will wait ;)

Holiday pictures Italy

It's been a long time since July, and not just mentally. I figured it might be fun to upload some of my holiday pictures. I've seen some gorgeous things. I can defenitely recommend Lake Garda to anyone who wants to have a romantic beautiful vacation :)


Day 1! Ready to go! Long drive ahead!


After a hectic first day we woke up in Stansstad in Switzerland. Isn't this a lovely view from the hotel window?


Stansstad is located by one of the many lakes Switzerland has. We just loved this little bay! By night it's gorgeous too!


A quick snap from the car. I promise you, Switzerland is without a doubt the most beautiful country to drive trough. The nature is so pure and enormous. Every turn you make, a new lake surrounded by ancient gigantic mountains dooms up in front of you. It made me want to cry sometimes, I was so touched by the nature.

My favorite songs

This is actually one of my favorite love songs. My favorite line of this songs is: 'I want you to show me imperfection is actually love.'

It's so true. When you love somebody, truly love somebody, you love them for all they are. Their imperfections, their little scars, annoying little habits.

This song, it's just love for me. The voices, the words, the atmosphere. It just makes me happy, sitting on cloud nine, thinking of my boyfriend.

I have known this song for a little over a year now. But guess what. Last week I watched it again. And around 2:00 min, there is a castle. I've been there! This summer! With my boyfriend! I've been to the top of the castle, walked around that perfect little village, and dreamed about how perfect that place was. It's probably one of the nicest things I've ever seen. For if you're wondering, the town is called Sirmione, and is situated at Lake Garda, Italy. Isn't that funny? How you never notice something, and suddenly it hits you!

Just quickly checking in!

Sooooo, how busy was I? And still am... But it's been GREAT, and I love every second of it.

Firstly I went to Italy for a little more than two weeks with my boyfriend. The true test of relationship ;). And it was... fantastic. We fit perfectly, and we had a lovely time. The temperature was up up in italy, and so we spent a lot of our time either in Lake Garda, our pool, or just chilling in a city, or reading books (we are both book-freaks). It was amazing! I cannot wait for next year!

Then I was home working and chilling with the boyfriend for three days, before I (alone!) hopped on a plane to Barcelona, Spain! Seriously, before I go any further, respect for flying alone, please! I have a fear of flying... Anyways, my family was already there, so I was welcomed with arms wide open. We stayed there for 1,5 weeks. The weather was nicer, not that hot, it was lovely :).

Then when I got back I stayed a few days crawled up in the arms of my love having a Dexter marathon, and working here and there.

That leads me to here :). I felt I was abandoning you all... So just a quick check in, photo's and more precise stories will come later :).

Let's all dream to what I achieved in life

The town I will be staying for two weeks, Manerba del Garda at Lago di Garda.

Something I'm really very proud of is my 'grown-up-holiday' as I'd like to call it. This fridaymorning, me and my boyfriend Joris will go to Italy for two whole weeks :). We will leave on the 9th, and return on the 24th or 25th of July :).

I am so very proud of that holiday because:
1) It's the first time I'm going on a REAL holiday by myself (I did however go with some people to Bratislava six days for school last year)
2) I saved all year, very much to be able to afford this, and I'm very proud of that
3) We go by car
4) I go with my lover

We'll just be chilling by Lake Garda for two weeks! Eating Gelato at a piazza in the sole. [Eating icecream at a square in the sun]
Exploring the piccolo villagis with my Lake Garda book. [tiny villages]
Nuotare in Lago Garda. [swimming in Lake Garda]
Visitare Verona!!! [Visit Verona]. Where the balcony of Romeo and Juliet is (how appropriate for this little cupid!)
And ofcourse mangiare frequemente pizza! [Eat lots of pizzas!]

Ps. Pictures of the residence we'll be staying in the next post! I will have pre writting posts coming on my blog during the week (I plan one every two days). I cannot write from my holiday destination, we won't have internet there! (the peace!!!!!)

I love my family!

The happy family having the BEST dinner, with Jim, aunt Nelie, and Annelies

My life, and the places I live (two actually) are pretty nice. But they are not my favourite place in the world. SAN DIEGO, California I say!

Let's start off with two obvious as to why I love San Diego, Forever 21 (to die for!), and the weather (same!). It's so silly, but as we drove from LAX to the San Diego area in August '09, with the shores, and all, it felt like coming home. So, so strange, but I recall that feeling of looking out of the window and feeling crazy excited!

But there's another reason, the biggest actually, that I love California to death, and that is my beautiful family there. Here, our family is small, consisting of only eight people. There, my family is huuuuuge. And even though we're not that close in blood lines, we are close in our hearts. It suddenly hit me, at the party aunt Nelie hosted for us... I have so much family... and even though they hadn't seen me since I still wore braces (I was 11 or 12), they loved me. And I loved that so much. I enjoyed myself sooo much at that party! (And o my, the Sangria was AMAZING)

My family there are the sweetest, most grateful people I know. They have the biggest hearts, and are ALWAYS optimistic. They inspire me a lot! I am SO grateful for knowing them, and am also SO grateful for being able to keep in touch with them. It makes me feel as though I'm still there :).

I can't wait to go back there in a few years, and see baby Claire all grown up. And Munich too for that matter!

So, as though with my love for fashion I might seem a material girl, I'm really not. Love is what makes the world go round, and I'm the last person to ever question that! I am just so grateful at this moment, for the wonderful family on the other side of the ocean! (And on my side too, ofcourse) And at these moments you realise.. it's all about love & gratitude.

Just wanted to share, and send some strong hugs to California (they have to cross a thousand timezones and an ocean - that's why they have to be strong!)

Me and my family in Holland will ALWAYS capture the great memories you've given us when you opened your homes to us. Everytime we meet we talk of the great holidays, and I can't thank you enough for everything! Hugs and love!

Almost time for a new start!

Last spring, when I went to Bratislava (capital of Slovakia) with school! I had the BEST time..


Only 5 more days of internship to go! And I'm THRILLED. After three months of working 9 to 5 EVERY day, I'm so relieved the end is in sight. I loved my internship, it was fun, but I'm just not made for working every day, the whole day. I like my freedom! Plus, it's not really the direction I want to go in with journalism.

Another reason I'm PSYCHED to have my internship end is because I can start dressing up again! When you're an intern that has to walk everywhere, and is dependent of public transport... heels just won't do it. Beside, it's been snowy for the past three months, and it's GONE now. YAY! I can start playing Carrie again :)

So, I decided to make a list of things I'll do when intership ends:
1. Sleep in, for a few days in a row
2. Go shopping at Primark
3. Go see all the great movies that are coming up
4. Play dressup and photograph some great outfits
5. Write, write, write
6. Work more so I'll earn big amounts of cash ;)
7. Buy Mika's cd
8. Go rest my butt and have cappucino's and sandwiches in the middle of the day
9. Hang out with friends
10. Hang out with my lovely boyfriend all day

And muuuuuuuuuch more! I can't WAIT for spring to finally start so I can rearrange my closet, when I can finally store my winter clothes, buy cute flats and wedges, buy summer dresses, play around with summer outfits...

And besides, We've already booked our little studio for the summer holidays! It's going to be ITALY!

And yes yes, it really seems spring is starting to show up, the degrees are getting better (supposedly it will be 10 degrees celcius on monday!! - Yay for my leopard springcoat!). So I'm praying the sun will start shining because spring is my favourite season of the year!
